The challenge:
Our client, a large international firm was closing its head office in Winnipeg. This put over 250 employees out of work, although some transfer opportunities would be available. In addition, the company wanted employees to stay with the company over the final three months prior to closure.
Our solution:
Whereas the decision to close was going to be a shock to employees and all concerned, it was important to maintain morale as best as possible. We proposed a multilevel transition process that included training for managers, personal one to one counseling and group career transition services. The result was a smooth transition and a successful closure. |
