HR Departmental Audit

The challenge:

Our client, a large government department had identified some service issues with respect to the receipt of HR services from their assigned HR service providers. While they were concerned with the service levels, they also wanted to preserve the relationships.

Our solution:

Legacy Bowes Group undertook to conduct a review by utilizing employee/management questionnaires, personal interviews and focus groups of all levels of employees to determine the specific needs and challenges being experienced by departmental managers. Utilizing this as a checklist, we then moved to identify the gaps in HR services. Working with the Director of HR, we identified what was possible in the short term and what needed more planning and financial support. The result was a set of recommendations for improvement. We were informed by the Assistant Deputy that our report was the only one in his professional history wherein all of the recommendations had been 100% accepted and implemented.
