    VP Training & Development

Richard (Rick) Timlick is Legacy Bowes Group's VP of Training and Development. He is a certified facilitator in several internationally known programs including 7 Habits of Highly Effective People ©. He also delivers other national programs, develops customized programs for clients, and is in demand as a consultant and public speaker.

More than a decade of experience in private industry, as well as the non-profit sector, has given Rick a wealth of knowledge in the areas of leadership, (coaching, developing, and focusing); business, (strategy, mission, and effectiveness/efficiency processes); and human development, (culture shifts, motivation and conflict resolution). Constantly current and studying in these areas, Rick offers fresh and unique insights that help develop valuable relationship skills, increased competitiveness, and drive essential bottom-line results within clients’ organizations.

Rick is no stranger to competition, having competed at high levels in both boxing and football. He is trained in martial arts and has played, coached and motivated others in a number of sports. He is also a firm believer that there is power in relationships and trains both individuals and organizations on how to unlock this power.

Formerly a sales manager of a large steel distributor with over 70 national locations, Rick developed a high performing sales team that grew market share consistently and set several sales and quality improvement records. He personally negotiated multi-million dollar contracts, supply chain management initiatives, and—as a trained Six Sigma facilitator—improved operations and overall profitability.

Rick views life as fertile ground for teaching and implementing principles of effectiveness, communication, and leadership. He uses engaging stories of his tackling of business and personal life challenges head-on. Though these stories, he weaves principles of effectiveness, discipline and humanity that not only benefit clients’ professional lives, buttheir personal lives, as well.

A husband and father of three, Rick strives for life balance and practices what he teaches. He serves actively in his community—a practice he insists helps him maintain perspective.
