    Barbara J. Bowes, FCHRP, CMC, M.Ed.

    President

    As President of Legacy Bowes Group, Barbara Bowes is a highly regarded HR authority, author and professional speaker.

    She is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), a Certified Human Resource Management Professional (CHRP - Fellow), and holds a Master of Administration in Education degree. She is also certified in a number of human resource and proprietary operational tools and strategies.

    During more than 20 years in all phases of executive search, she has completed successful searches for senior leadership roles including President/CEO, Vice President and General Manager for companies in a variety of sectors. Recently, her focus has been directed to College, School Board and senior human resource assignments.

    In addition to her experience as a business owner, Barbara has also led the human resources management practice at an international accounting and consulting firm and was Director of the Western Canada HR consulting practice for a regional accounting firm. In these roles she and her staff produced results for client organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to not-for-profit organizations.

    Her popular "Working World" column appears every Saturday in the Careers section of the Winnipeg Free Press and she is a regular contributor to the Manitoba Business Show on CJOB in Winnipeg.

    Barb is also a talented speaker, weaving her first-hand experience, extensive HR knowledge and witty stories into speaking sessions that are both educational and entertaining at the same time. Barb is known for her charm, professionalism and love of professional speaking. Her company is always a pleasure, and she is a welcome addition to meetings, conferences and workshops as Keynote Speaker or HR Expert.  As well, no matter the industry or group size, Barb will customize her speaking role to suit specific audiences.

    Barb is a member of Canadian Association of Professional Speakers and is a certified Coach Practitioner as recognized by the Certified Coaches Federation.

    Partner, HR and Labour Relations Consulting

    Considered a change agent with a passion for implementing innovative solutions and programs, continuous improvement and customer service, Mike has built a solid reputation on effectively linking people and business strategies to achieve organizational goals.

    As Partner with Legacy Bowes Group, Mike brings over 25 years of senior leadership expertise covering all aspects of Human Resources management with particular emphasis on labour and employee relations. He has served in a number of senior Human Resource leadership roles including Vice President, Executive Director, and Director in some of Canada’s leading organizations. Mike’s extensive human resources experience covers a wide variety of sectors including hospital and emergency care, mining, foundry and heavy transportation manufacturing, aerospace, automotive (bus), and retail manufacturing.

    Mike has diplomas in Human Resources and in Labour Relations. He also has been trained in safety and health, psychological profiling, and various career assessment tools.

    “I enjoy the unique challenges and complexity of what I do,” says Mike. “The challenge of helping organizations and people get from where they are now to where they want to be is very satisfying. I enjoy the problem solving aspect this role brings. I start with getting to identify and understand the situation and then try to find creative and innovative solutions."

    Mike also lends his expertise to educate and mentor others. His column, “Cuma’s Corner” appears in the Winnipeg Sun every second Sunday. Mike also serves as a part time instructor in the Professional Studies Program at the University of Winnipeg.

    In his spare time, Mike plays golf and serves on a number of not-for-profit Boards of Directors.

    Brad is a Senior Human Resource consultant with over 22 years professional experience in training and development, diversity management, human resources and communications. Born and raised in Australia, as part of highly entrepreneurial family, Brad learnt firsthand the value of good communication and strong interpersonal relationships.

    Brad has worked with both the private and public sector across North America and the Pacific Rim. He was recognized as the Asia Pacific Entrepreneur of the Year from the Asper Centre. Building on his earlier experiences as a champion debater and professionally trained actor, Brad represented Canada in the 2004 International Championships of Public Speaking. He is a master presenter, just as comfortable doing a break out session with 10 people or a conference keynote for hundreds.

    Referred to as ‘the connection coach, Brad is kind of like a magnifying glass..he helps you focus so you can connect the dots and get the results you are looking for!’ Brad is an expert in leveraging diversity & inclusion management; going beyond cultural & racial diversity to encompass all forms of inclusion, including intergenerational workforce, LGBTTQ employees and conscious entrepreneurs.

    His certifications include-Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP); Certified Personal Management Coach (PMC); Certified Life Options Retirement Planning Coach (LORC); White & Yellow Belts in Deep Democracy Advanced Facilitation and a Certified Coach Practitioner as recognized by the Certified Coaches Federation.
